This Is Not A Drill, Its A Gun.

During recent discussions we have debated in a lively fashion about the responsibilities adults have in relation to children under their care. In Tennessee a place I know nothing about and would never want to go there teachers in charge of an Elementary school trip to a state park decided to thrill the sixty-nine 11 year-olds by convincing them there was a gunman loose in the building and to all lie doon on the ground. A teacher cunningly disguised in a hoodie pulled at the locked door. They turned the lights out on them and about 20 kids started to cry thinking they were going to be killed.

The terror lasted for 5 minutes as the teachers wanted it to be a learning experience and I think the kids learned that the Assistant Principal Don Bartch who was in charge of the trip puts the ass in assistant.

Last month a few days shy of the day the Virginia tech shootings happened killing 33 people, what the fuck were these slack jawed cunts thinking? I bet they are a real hoot at home,"honey I just got a call and your father just died in a car crash, no I was only kidding but how did that make you feel?" "Timmy Worf the dog ran away, I'm so sorry, nope only kidding but what were you thinking for those 5 minutes when you sat and cried?"

Fucking mongs, no wonder the kids are growing up stupid with these people teaching them.

Brian O’Nolan wrote under the pen names of Flann O’Brien and Myles na Gopaleen. In his writings he mentioned the best way to put manners on your child was to hire the scruffiest character you could find in a days walk; get him to frighten the livin' day-lights out of your kid as he comes home from school, and from then on you would never have a moments worry after that because he would be well prepared for anything life could throw at him.
Sure worked for me.

I worked on the 22nd floor of a high rise building when there was a bomb threat made, we were told to exit our offices in an orderly manner and exit the building as quickly as possible without running. When we finally got to the ground floor we could not exit the building because there was a gaggle of young girls that refused to exit the lobby because it was sprinkling outside and they didn’t want to get their hair wet. I pushed my way through the mass of people to see why everyone was just milling around. I asked the young women to stand away from the exits so that others could exit the building and the said: “But it’s raining and I have a date tonight! I can’t get my hair wet!” I replied: It won’t matter what your hair looks like if there is an explosion and a huge shard of glass cuts your head off.” They finally cleared the exits, but they never exited the building. So I guess my point is that maybe some people have to get the crap scared out of them just to snap them into reality and make them realize that sometimes there are more important issues to consider than the appearance of their hair.

paddy Also with the McCanns I take it parenting classes aren't too big in Catholic circles.

AZ some people do need a shock but not 11 year-olds on a field trip. Is it not geese that group in a gaggle? I will think on this further. Please do not start yelling bomb on aeroplanes to teach the passengers valuable life lessons they may not appreciate it.

Unbelievable. I just backspaced over two or three lines because, really, I'm not sure what to say about this except "unbelievable."

Lets teach our children through means of shock and violence.
Lets not take into account that we can't possibly know the life histories of these vulnerable little people. In factlets traumatise them and then send them on their merry way without bothering to ask if they indeed have support mechanisms in place when their brains start to process what just happened to them.
If thats their idea of how to educate the future generation then these people should be charged with terrorist type activities.
When one of these impressionable children gets a little older and decides to strike out at the education system for traumatising him or her at 11 and takes gun to school who are they going blame?

I remember being about 7 & in my Catholic School we all used to attend en masse (pun?) Monday Morning Service in the church next door every week.I remember several times a funeral service going on afterwards which we stayed to watch(Monday! What a shit day to be buried!).
It kinda set the tone for the rest of the week.

robyn only in America is the expression you need.

savannah we were caned in school but it was this type of moron that abused the caning.

kate Isis indeed, many kids just aren't able to handle this and could be in therapy because of a stupid prank, bring on the lawsuits.

manuel a gunman is one thing but pay rises are serious.

tony that and the fondling, priests were busy lads.

Well, created memories for them little brats, didn't it?
This was once called "Abhärtung", but I thought the last class of the "Heinrich-Himmler-Schule für Menschenführung" got their degree some years ago. Maybe they forgot to close the american branch.

So they think in Tennesse that it is an expectable thing to happen in their school, that the wild gunman comes ashooting. And better be prepared. If they'll get a trauma for sure, than let's do it ourselves - then we'll know what we get.

Telling kids that Santa died is one thing but this is just wrong.

I don't even know what you wrote, you have a picture of Dirty Harry and his famous gun. Clint Eastwood is my hero. SIGH.

It's not just Tennessee.

Idiots are everywhere. I have an abandoned draft written about an entire school district going into lockdown a day after the Virginia massacre because some parent reported seeing what they believed to be a man dressed as a woman standing waiting for a bus, close to one of the schools. The suspect was described as white, about 6 ft tall, wearing a gray or blond wig, lipstick, a flowered skirt, dark coat and high heels. Schools were locked down for almost one and a half hours, causing stress and anguish for pupils and parents alike. No one was arrested.

Better to be safe than sorry? Agreed, but it just goes to show how insulated some communities are. What the hell would they have done if they had spotted a bloke wearing a turban and a backpack?

Mr Eater Princess Anne having a shite gives you the horn.

Ms Pool yer so shallow. get it?

Mr Waring you mean like the police in london shooting yer man after 7/7 ? ah well he shouldn't have run.

Mr. Waring
That's exactly what is scaring: I toured some blogs of american younger people and they were full of things like "the lefties are disgracing america in the world", "countrymusic is common sense (sic!)", "we are surrounded by devils (sic!)" and other nonsense of this kind: It was talk of white knights inside the "Wagenburg". Nearly all of these guys described themselves as "conservative" and as having earned a degree - what makes me guess that they are in their upper twenties.
A Sikh with a backpack is dead in an american village - he'd had better chanches in an east-german village, because there are no guns around.

eddie - they locked a school down because of a suspected man in drag?

You can't believe everything you read. I know you don't know Don Bartch and I know you were not there.

Don bartch is taking one for the team on this one. He didn't think up this plan, but he does take his role of assistant principal seriously.

My friend, he is no ass. In fact, he is quite the opposite. He's one of the best people I know.

You ought to get your story straight before lancing someone publicly.

Old Knudsen said...

He was in charge right? then he should understand that even if he isn't responsible he is accountable.

Fajita said...

It sure is easy to sit back and throw stones. Hope you're not throwing boomerangs.

Old Knudsen said...

I cast stones and I throw half bricks. Stop judging me it hurts, I'm melting.

Anonymous said...

You don't know the whole story. Don had no prior knowledge of the "prank". He is standing up for his teachers in a time when most wouldn't!

What the media has done with this story is crazy and incorrect. Now that there is mounting support for him.... where is CNN or FoxNews?

Old Knudsen said...

He was in charge right? then he should understand that even if he isn't responsible he is accountable.

Why am I repeating myself?

he said she said time for the lawsuits it is America after all. Its the only story I've heard of what happened. Don isn't a very good leader it seems and will pay for it with a slap on the wrist and my blog post which no one except his mates cares about.

I'm as reiable and more trust worthy than Fox.

Anonymous said...

Sometimes when you're accountable things happen before you can control them. Then in all this backlash, he still took the heat.

Its tough at the top.

you back again? you love to cast yer self righteousness around in a dumb one dimensional way going on about how I can't judge others but still you judge me, you're the bad type of hypocrite, at least I admit to being one . Yes I can say whatever I want as its my blog, if you don't like it then don't read it I don't care.

I get it that you don't get the whole personal responsibility thing, Jesus got it I guess it hurts you to think huh?

Don Bartch is jesus, that could be yer next Blog post, tickle my barse and call me cuntbreath I'm out of here, I left the comment deleted instead of wiping it clean to deter rodents.

Anonymous said...

It doesn't that Don didn't know about the prank. The school does a prank like this every year. He knew there was going to be a prank. If he didn't know about it, he sure is not a very good Asst. Principal to not know what is going on and to not stop it once it starts. Fajita, I know Don as well (and you). This is not about throwing stones. It's about taking responsiblity and showing good judgment. Don took responsibility, yes, but showed poor judgment.

Old Knudsen said...

About time an Anonymous comment that shows some sense.

Fajita said...

Anon, who claims to know me, I am glad that you see Bartch is taking personal responsibility and standing up for his teachers, and the kids, and so forth.

Furthermore, if you had been the an known the timing of the events, the reactions, when the kabosh was placed ont he whole thing, you would be chaging your tune.

The reporting of this story leaves so much to the imagination, an imagination tainted by the horrible events at Virginia Tech, that it is next to impossible to know anything. The headlines scream too much .

Anonymous said...

Chris, don't you think that even if Don didn't know about the prank (a prank that the teachers pull every year on this trip) that THAT fact shows poor leadership as he is the Assist Princ. and was, in fact, on this trip? If he didn't know the teachers were going to pull the prank, what kind of leadership does that show?

I'm praying for Don and really hope he and his family pull thru this ok..but I don't think he needs to be let off the hook scott free. Perhaps for planning the "prank" but not for not knowing about it.

Old Knudsen said...

Just talk among yourselves.

Bad taste
poor leadership
inappropriate choice of prank
5 minutes of fear
America

all leads to lawsuits, send Don on a course and behead the other teachers involved, Solomon has spoken.
