Mexican Buy Back

Mexico city had a very successful guns for gifts event over the Christmas period netting thousands of weapons and of course as usual at least one grenade launcher .... there is always a grenade launcher.

The tablet computers and bicycles have all gone but wanting to get more the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico city then offered cash for guns. Starting at 2,500 pesos -- or about $195, £119 -- for a .22-caliber pistol, and up to $590, £363 for a rifle.
For having so much violence,  Mexico has very strict gun owning laws which is operated by the military.

In the buy back they got a further 43 small guns, 12 big guns, six grenades, and 15 "war toys" such as tear-gas canisters.

They will be moving the buy back further north. Unlike the recent guns for groceries event in LA the guns handed in were not just spare guns they had lying around. Every gun they get handed in with no questions asked they reckon thats one life saved.
They even got a number of replicas that could be used in robberies.
