Gerry Adams the leader of Sinn Fein tweeted that Maya Angelou poem in response to his niece Aine coming out and saying that her father Liam abused her and that uncle Gerry knew about it and didn't do anything about it.

He asked for respect for his family at this time and what a great birthday he had, nothing about his niece.
