I suggest you spend the first 40 days of the New Year fasting and praying for forgiveness of your MANY sins.
Adding sackcloth and ashes to the mix couldn't hurt.
Normally, when I bestow this wise advice to sinners, I point out someone who's been forgiven who's sins were greater than or equal to their own. King David, for example.
I can't cite such an example in Knudsen's case, however.
